Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Interoperability and Integration Engineer SME in the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) which focuses on providing enterprise support to over 110 active Air Force, Air National Guard (ANG), and Air Force Reserve installations and bases. HNI also provides technical and policy support and provides C3I infrastructure for the USAF enterprise applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide knowledge and experience in technical requirements development, planning, cybersecurity implementations, Information Assurance (IA), system/program protection implementations, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) analysis, spectrum management, standards implementations, information technology (IT) analysis, engineering and technical analysis, test and control functions necessary to assure that the integrated system elements satisfy compatibility and performance requirements (i.e., operational, technical, derived, horizontal, and inherited) established over the life cycle of weapon systems.
• Command, Control, Communications (C3), IT, and ISR system of systems interoperability analysis
• C3 and ISR technology analysis
• Machine-to-machine data flows and exchanges technology analysis and testing
• Mission planning processes and technology analysis and testing
• Information technology analysis
• Architecture development and analysis
• Communication Security (COMSEC) management process and technology analysis and testing
• Communications engineering
• Interoperability testing
• Standards conformance
• Encryption technology analysis and development
• E3 testing
• Spectrum certification and supportability
• Cybersecurity and IA certification and accreditation
• Analysis of protection technologies for Critical Protected Information (CPI) and technologies
• Technical adequacy and compatibility of system interfaces

Program Specific Skillsets:

• Experience with MBSE (e.g. DOORS or CAMEO)
• Experience with Zero Trust
• Strong system and/or solutions architecture background.
• Illustrate the ability to identify, articulate and document the complex commonalities/interactions between systems and platforms. This cross functional expertise and critical thinking will contribute to the identification of interoperability between existing systems as well as for future use when network changes are proposed for implementation.
• Utilizing network experience and MBSE tools, since the candidate will identify existing HNI projects/programs, key infrastructure and ensure program is documented to current MBSE framework and standards.
  • Identification of item(s) that fall below current MBSE framework and standards.
  • Identification of interoperability and dependencies between multiple systems.
• Create, operate and update documentation using MBSE tools (DOORS & Cameo), Jira, Service Now, Power Apps, Power BI platforms.
• Experience in creating and giving presentations to Senior Level Leadership.
• Working closely with HNI Portfolio Management (PfM) Team members on the development, maintenance, and sustainment of internal HNI tracker that will Identify status of all PfM projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• MA/MS in engineering
• 15 years of experience which must be interoperability and integration engineering experience, 5 years of which must be DoD
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Candidate MUST have an active US security clearance.
