Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Estimator as this position will support the Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (Global ASNT) program, which is within the USAF C3I and Networks Directorate and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.

The Global ASNT program acquires and sustains nuclear command, control, and communications terminals for the Air Force nuclear bomber mission.

WORK LOCATION: Hanscom AFB, MA

JOB STATUS: Full time; salaried

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation
  • Using cost estimating outputs to assess the impact of various factors on the costs to design, research, develop, operate, maintain, and dispose of a weapon system
  • Analyzing all elements affecting costs for a project of limited scope
  • Analyzing contractor financial data using Earned Value Management measures of merit to determine program viability with respect to cost and schedule performance
  • Using the Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) to perform all program office estimates and analyses
  • Analytical processes, such as setting up the problem, conducting background research, collecting and reducing data, displaying data for analysis, formulating mathematical expressions, and drawing conclusions.
  • Compliance with all cost estimating guidance including the appropriate DoD, Air Force, AFMC, AFLCMC, or lower level policy, publications, supplements, manuals, etc., as well as applicable documents and regulations, systems, processes, and guides, as required.
  • Applying cost estimating guidance including DoD, Air Force, or lower level policy, publications, supplements, manuals, etc., to produce deliverables – Cost Analysis Requirements Document (CARD), Program Office Estimate (POE) Component Cost Estimate (CCE)
  • Coordinate with Air Force Cost Analysis Agency (AFCAA) and OSD Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) in achieving a Service Cost Position (SCP) (for MDAP/MAIS).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) and 10 years of experience (3 years DoD), or 15 years of experience (5 years DoD)
  • Knowledge/experience with USAF Acquisition processes and policies
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and in person is crucial to this position
  • Use of MS office products and the ACEIT cost estimating tool
  • Candidate MUST have an active US security clearance.
