Linux Administrator
Systems Integration & Development (SID) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA and is seeking a Linux Administrator. This is a full-time position and is located in Silver Spring, MD. A hybrid schedule is offered for the role.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide Linux administration support and configuration
- Work on multiple Linux tickets or issues to satisfactory resolution
- Assist in user requests and security related information for Linux systems
- Ensure systems are kept up to date with patches and security errata
- Provide Hardware Support (servers, disk arrays, tape backup libraries)
- Create, disable, and otherwise manage user accounts
- Mitigate security vulnerabilities and document remediate actions taken
- Support IT policy and implementation
- Assist with IT Security – patching, incident reporting, and security processes
- Perform standard maintenance activities in an operational cloud environment such as instance maintenance, volume creation, verification of backups
- Additional duties as assigned
