Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh is Hiring a Security/ Transportation Supervisor Near Naples, FL

POSITION SUMMARY

Guards property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry as well as responsible for the overall scheduling and execution of all transportation services for the residents to and from various activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

· Notifies appropriate agencies in situations where their response is necessary.

· Conducts safety and security inspections of community property to include the Clubhouse, Resident Apartment Building hallways, trash bins, parking areas, and perimeter access, pool area, and ALF.

· Maintains a written log for security activities.

· Reviews previous log entries, notes, and memos. Briefs in-coming security personnel of important issues.

· Inventories and inspects security equipment such as radios, telephones, beepers, batteries, vehicles, i.e. golf carts,( minor service batteries, tires, clean, lights) keys, life safety and fire devices. i.e. extinguishers.

· Prepares appropriate forms for incidents and accidents occurring during the shift, and distributes as per policy.

· Schedules and provides transportation for Residents in accordance with policy.

· Assists Residents with packages and groceries such as prescriptions, flowers, mail, packages, and newspapers.

· Ensures outside furniture or fixtures are secure in the event of inclement weather.

· Delivers items to Residents in accordance with the community policy

· Investigates and settles parking disputes.

· Identifies unregistered vehicles.

· Secures and unlocks area/buildings in accordance with policy.

· Raises, lowers, and folds the flag appropriately.

· Secures minor maintenance emergencies, i.e. plunges toilet or water shutoff, checks AC breakers.

· Guard gate responsibilities include monitoring entrance, exit, vendor parking and guest directions.

· Schedules appropriate security and transportation personal as the community activities and policy dictates.

· Provides supervisory support to the Director, i.e. reviews, and disciplinary actions as well as resident issues.

· Assists and maintains life safety and disaster plans for both IL and AL.

· Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enforces company policies and procedures. Schedules, reviews and oversees all security and transportation staff. Supports director with performance evaluations, hiring and firing of Security and transportation Team Members.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Educational Requirements and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Valid Florida driver’s license. May be required to obtain CDL license.

· Experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Language Ability:

o Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents.

o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports.

· Cognitive Demands:

o Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

· Competencies:

o Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.

o Interacts with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.

o Ability to respond promptly to resident needs.

o Supports organization's goals and values.

o Balances team and individual responsibilities.

o Must be knowledgeable of all safety precautions and comply with safety measures.

o Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.

o Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision.

o Able to make responsible choices and decisions and act in a resident’s best interest.

o Competent in organization, time management skills and handling multiple priorities.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

· Works both outdoors and indoors all year.

· Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual

While performing the duties of this Job, the Team Member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The Team Member is frequently required to sit and stoop, kneel, and couch. The Team Member is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance. The Team Member must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
