Job Title: Behavioral Interventionist

Locations: In-Home Services / Schools / Approved (Community Center & Public Location) / Rare Cases (Telehealth)

Job Summary:The Behavioral Interventionist provides direct behavioral interventions and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, or special needs. They collaborate with the supervising BCBA and other team members to develop and implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and analyze progress. The goal is to promote positive behavior changes, improve communication and social skills, and enhance the overall well-being of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Planning:
    1. Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to conduct assessments, functional behavior assessments (FBAs), and other evaluations to understand the individual's needs and challenges.
    2. Contribute to developing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment results and under the guidance of the BCBA.
  2. Implementation:
    1. Deliver behavior intervention services according to the established BIP, using evidence-based techniques and strategies.
    2. Provide one-on-one or group support to individuals to improve their behavior, communication, social interactions, and daily living skills.
    3. Assist with implementing strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior changes.
  3. Data Collection and Analysis:
    1. Collect accurate and detailed data on the individual's behavior and progress during intervention sessions.
    2. Assist in data analysis to assess the effectiveness of behavior interventions and make necessary adjustments to the intervention plan.
  4. Communication and Collaboration:
    1. Maintain open and effective communication with the supervising BCBA, team members, and other stakeholders.
    2. Provide feedback on progress, challenges, and observations during intervention sessions.
  5. Documentation:
    1. Maintain accurate and organized records of interventions, data collection, and progress notes.
    2. Prepare reports and summaries for the BCBA and other team members to review.
  6. Training and Support:
    1. Train caregivers, family members, teachers, and other relevant individuals on implementing behavior intervention strategies in various settings.
    2. Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure consistent implementation of the intervention plan.
  7. Professional Development:
    1. Stay updated on the latest research, best practices, and developments in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral intervention.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma (Required) Bachelor's Degree in psychology, education, special education, or a related field (Preferred)
    Relevant certifications or training in applied behavior analysis (ABA) or behavior intervention.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and strategies.
  • Registered Behavior Technician Certification (Preferred)

Behavioral Interventionists typically work in various settings, including schools, clinics, homes, and community centers. The Behavioral Interventionist will work with individuals of different ages (Adolescents to Teenagers) and Cultural backgrounds, and their schedules may vary based on the needs of the individuals they support.
