PRODUCT MANAGER- PRESSDepartment: Marketing & Applications General scope of Responsibilities: Responsible for managing product line for maximum profitability and growth. Participate in the new product development process and the timely and successful launch of new products. Responsible to train and continually coach field personnel in product applications. Provide guidance and field support on sales and follow-up of Alpha and Beta trials. Responsibilities and duties:Maintain safe work standards that meet all legal requirements. Accountable & responsible for the development of his/her business line in his/her grade or portfolio.Ensure that technical properties of product portfolio meet market demands while minimizing impact on manufacturing. This demands a good understanding of paper and textile manufacturing. This involves extensive knowledge of press fabric manufacturing (carding, weaving, needling, finishing) as well as polymer chemistry and basic papermaking.Participate actively in the product rationalization and its timely implementation.Participate in the selling budgeting & manufacturing forecasting of his product segment.Participate in the pricing process; upkeep of the price list, discount programs and claim settlement strategies.Participate for the implementation and upkeep of the selling process.Review AstenJohnson corporate bids for consistency with marketing direction and margin objectives.Provide technical support and leadership to site operations.Lead new product and advanced product development projects.Participate in the creation of advertising and promotional programs around the product line.Acts as a bridge between the field and the Continuous Improvement Team regarding field problems and their resolution.Create an environment that encourages a high level of moral, legal, civic, social, and environmental awareness and behavior.Provide application (product design and selection) and marketing support for global market marketing staff to ensure global application consistency. Reporting Relationships:Line: Product Business LeadersWorks with Field based associates, Product Business Leaders, Sales & Marketing Management, New & Advanced product developments. Requirements:Education: College graduate in business, engineering, paper, textiles or related science.Experience: Minimum of 10 year's experience in papermaking, paper machine clothing and/or related fields is required.
