Purpose:

The Ophthalmics Global Brand Marketing is responsible for contributing to strategic direction and executing tactical project management for our Ophthalmics Global Brand Team and the Global Product Strategy Team. Also partner with GBL, Ophthalmics and other leaders to implement business processes as needed in support of global product launch.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Under the leadership of the GBL, manage the cross functional co-creation process with prioritized countries, EST-C and INT-C, leading to the creation of insight-based strategies, including development of global messages, positioning, core campaigns and LCM including LoE strategy

  • Uncover actionable patient journey, scientific and competitive insights, provide input and direction to market research.

  • Co-chair the Global Brand Team, aligning on commercial strategies and decision-making across the alliance

  • Translate scientific & market insights and competitive findings into business recommendations that deliver current and future success for the brand.

  • Contribute to cross-functional Global Product Strategy Team (GPST) to optimize strategies, create and drive the product launch and life cycle management and monitor performance.

  • Lead efforts to execute launch initiatives across disease education and product launch with a focus on Retina Specialists and Ophthalmologist

  • Work with key affiliates to optimize launch execution

  • Ensure clarity and alignment of our clinical story execution through collaboration across access, patient marketing retina innovation, medical, legal and compliance functions; Partner with country marketing teams to provide clear expectations for field execution of clinical story

  • Lead and optimize disease education and branded deliverables from external partners (agencies, market research teams)

  • Collaborate to capture the voice of patients, caregivers, retina specialists and their staff so that their needs are understood and reflected in brand tactics and initiatives; Understand the voice of the customer through direct discussion with retinal specialists

  • Work with communications team to drive external and internal communications

  • Lead the congress strategy development and implementation working collaboratively with country teams, medical affairs and congress & events team

  • Represent the brand in external customer engagements where necessary

  • Lead for HCP promotional review - project submission, review, and execution

Organizational Context:

  • Internal: SBM Ophthalmics & Rare Disease, Medical Affairs/Development, Asset Leads, Operational leads for Global Market Access & Pricing, CS&C, 5 regional Commercial Divisions; US Brand Team; Congress & Event Planning Teams; Commercial Strategy and other functions as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10 years Ophthalmology/retina knowledge & experience

  • Knowledge gained through a university degree. Master preferred

  • 12 years of progressive commercial experience

  • Recent, significant launch experience

  • Proven ability and experience to effectively lead an international commercial group in a complex global environment for a multinational pharmaceutical company

  • Ability to travel 20-25%
