Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for an onsite Principal Systems Engineer! T his position is located at AIS headquarters in Rome, NY. In this role, you'll lead the Testing and Systems engineering team for the SecureView® product.
How You'll Succeed
You'll succeed by designing, executing, and writing formal test procedures/plans across functional and security requirements.You'll participate in system, exploratory, and complex ad-hoc testingwhile tracking bugs, issues, and improvements found throughout the development lifecycle. You'll support the development of complex software components from initial design through testing, deployment, and release.Your additional responsibilities will include:

• Developing and overseeing content for user manuals, training materials, proposals, test plans, technical documentation, etc.
• Identifying, understanding, and providing creative solutions to advance software performance
• Evaluating tasks and deliverables for technical quality, ensuring solutions are engineered in a sensible and maintainable fashion
• Auditing and verifying the work of others
• Participating in design and architecture discussions
• Utilizing and further developing test automation frameworks
• Identifying future test automation opportunities
• Maintaining and implementing test infrastructure
• Identifying and anticipating infrastructure testing issues
• Providing consultation to customers regarding testing approaches and practices
• Collaboratively developing and maintaining the project roadmap with management
• Providing prudent counsel for project direction

Your Expertise

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline and11 years' experience in quality/test engineering, system engineering or networking installation and administration; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• You have 8 years of familiarity with Linux and/or Windows
• You have 8 years of knowledge of networking appliances
• You have 5 years of understanding of industry standard tools
• You have the ability to obtain/retain a Top Secret security clearance
• You have the ability to travel less than 10%, as needed

• Previous experience with the SecureView product preferred

US Salary Range: $118,000 - $160,000
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
