Our focus is on providing highly specialized and compassionate psychiatric care for the mental health needs of our senior population. We work closely with long-term care facilities, assisted and independent living facilities, area hospitals, psychiatrists, geriatricians, internists, family practitioners, and others.

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Registered Nurse at Assurance Health System in Toledo, OH. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality and compassionate patient care in a psychiatric setting. Daily tasks may include administering medications, monitoring patient progress, assessing and documenting patient conditions, communicating with healthcare team members, and ensuring patient safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatments
• Strong assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with healthcare team members
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Compassionate and empathetic demeanor
• Ability to handle stressful situations and practice good judgment
• Willingness to work with the senior population
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred

Working Conditions:
The employee may be exposed to blood borne pathogens, infectious diseases, and other hazardous wastes, (i.e. Hepatitis, Aids, Tuberculosis). Proper precautions will be taught and provided by the hospital. The position requires a considerable amount of walking, stooping, pulling, lifting, feeling, hearing, and repetitive motions. Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, to stand for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching, and to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Patient care activities may require the ability to lift of up to 30 lbs. constantly, up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 100 lbs. rarely.
