Elementary Classroom Aide, Assumption Catholic School

2024-2025

Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption, is looking for a full-time classroom aide to begin in the fall of 2024.

Job responsibilities:

Elementary Classroom Aide

Assist/support the classroom teacher in presenting the academic program to students.

Prepare materials and offer suggestions in the planning process with teachers.

Help with student coordination and classroom management, particularly during specialist classes like music, library, and p.e.

Be assigned to an additional duty (lunch recess) as needed for supervision from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday

Work individually with students and in small groups to support project-based learning, reading intervention support, and math skills.

Record-keeping- Check students’ homework and record it in FACTS as directed by the teacher.

Parent communication- Work with parents who volunteer in the classroom

Supervision and discipline of students

Alert the teacher to special needs of individual students. Provide escort and assistance to children as necessary.

Check students work for compliance with teacher's instructions. Help maintain individual records for each student.

Collect and display suitable material for educational displays; prepare displays; decorate classroom.

Perform a variety of office assistance tasks such as photocopying, filing, answering the telephone, etc. as required.

Perform related work as required.

Work hours:

• Monday through Friday, 8 am to 3 pm
• Lunch recess duty Monday through Friday 11:30 to 1:00 pm

Rate of pay: $19-$22/hour

Qualifications: (Only qualified applicants will be reviewed.)

• AA degree in ECE or equivalent
• Portable Background Check required
• Willingness to promote and educate in Christian values and Biblical teachings.
