ABC's humane and innovative programs include early childhood education, health care services, housing assistance, mental health services, family preservation, crisis intervention, recreational services, job training and employment assistance, therapeutic after school and summer day camp programs, mentoring and legal advocacy.

About the position:

Supervisors of the Children’s Mobile Crisis Team oversee the team of clinicians and parent advocates responding to mental health crisis calls made through 888-NYC-WELL for ages 0-20 in Manhattan. The team responds within 2 hours of a referral 7 days a week. CMCT provides short term crisis response and supports appropriate program linkages, and serves as a much needed alternative to ER visits/911 calls and/or facilitation when hospitalization is necessary. CMCT responds to referrals from schools, child welfare, other social programs, and family members.

*$2,000 add-on bonus for Spanish fluency*

*$2,000 add-on bonus for doing evening shifts*

A supervisor will:

  • Supervise the CMCT staff, which includes admin staff, front line clinical staff, and parent advocates and per diem staff.
  • Provide clinical supervision and assist with high risk situations, such as transport to hospital and/or coordination with EMS/NYPD.
  • Ensure that referrals are responded to within the 2 hour time frame, and will make decisions regarding the appropriateness of referrals.
  • Provide outreach to the community (parents, schools, health professionals, law enforcement, social service agencies) to increase awareness of the program to generate appropriate referrals.
  • Communicate program policies and procedures to staff. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and takes corrective action, as necessary, to address deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Coordinator around staff scheduling and coverage.

What we are looking for: (Skills, Education and Requirements)

  • LMSW with 1,000 clinical hours or LCSW (Licensure in New York State)
  • 1-2 Years Supervisory experience
  • Training and experience in the systems of care that support mental health crises in children and adolescents
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders in children, their symptoms, treatment, and social implications in relation to the client.
  • Computer proficiency and comfort using technology.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.
  • SIFI Certification a plus but not required.
  • Fully Vaccinated
