Purpose
This position supports ASPPH’s goal to operate as an effective, efficient, and inclusive organization. The senior graphic design and marketing specialist contributes to the growth and strength of the organization by developing and implementing effective marketing strategies in support of grant-funded projects and initiatives in the ASPPH Center for Public Health Workforce Development (CPHWD). This includes the creative, digital, and analytical aspects of all marketing projects. The senior graphic design and marketing specialist is also responsible for creating engaging designs for website designs, ads, and other digital media across our digital properties to promote and enhance the work of the CPHWD. This position reports to the Senior Director of Branding and Marketing and produces meaningful and impactful designs across a multitude of areas and must be results-focused. The senior graphic design and marketing specialist will be a member of the External Relations and Advocacy (ERA) team.

Primary Responsibilities 
Design digital and print assets, including marketing materials, exhibit materials, short videos, infographics, brochures, and other communications collateral.
Design creative assets for the website, including prototypes and online ads, including web banners. Stay up to date on specifications for different ad types and current trends and best practices for effective design.
Improve existing campaign graphics and layout, provide updated images and design, and implement approved changes as instructed.
Create innovative marketing campaigns using the ASPPH brand and the latest research in creative content.
Provide design expertise to emphasize improving the user experience through the disciplines of UX/UI and AI technologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a unified and compliant web presence. 
Help in outbound and inbound marketing activities by displaying expertise in event planning, advertising and optimization, and content development.
Performs other duties as required to support the department and its mission.
Minimum Qualifications 
Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience

Skills Needed
Expertise with common design software, including Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
Experience working on federally funded projects and initiatives
Experience working in project management platforms like Monday.com
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail for precise analysis of data and understanding of design principles
Time management and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
Additional Information
Work Locale: The position will be based in the ASPPH’s Washington, DC office. ASPPH maintains a hybrid work environment. Full-time remote position possible from CO, FL, GA, MA, MD, MI, NC, TX, VA, and WV.
Authority to Work in the US: The individual must be legally eligible to work in the US.
Travel Requirements: The position may involve occasional travel to, and participation in, meetings related to the position’s professional responsibilities.
Compensation: The position’s compensation level is based on industry salary surveys and the individual’s experience. ASPPH also takes into consideration the internal pay equity of our existing team members. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. We typically do not hire at the maximum level to allow for salary growth. ASPPH offers a generous benefits package, detailed below.

Manages/Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities.
