Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. The list is not all inclusive of duties that may be requested by the department head or a member of upper management but are intended for an understanding of the purpose of the position. It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate customer service to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sales and profits.
Exceed company expectations for inventory accuracy.
Set up all new items in Grocery, Dairy and Frozen.
Verify inventory through reports (10 and Under, Discontinued Items, CSS to Wrap Compare, catch weight meat variances, and Scratch Report).
Use Receiving vs. Putaway to catch keying errors made by forklift drivers and receiving. Use Letdown Out of Rotation to catch rotation errors made by outbound lift drivers.
Check dairy dates to ensure proper shelf life of the product. Make a new date book every two weeks.
Every two weeks check dates on certain items in dry grocery (i.e.: crackers, cookies, salad dressing and Gatorade).
Keep a staged inventory list of all items pulled for dating issues or infestation. Have these items placed in V class (non-billable inventory) until the buyer determines disposition.
Verify warehouse reserves for proper location of inventory and to find any lost pallets of items not showing in the wraps system. Verify quantities in the pick location (with the reserves verified) and make adjustments to inventory.
Slot checks for customer service and buyers to verify the correct product is in the pick slot. Check UPC, Expiration Dates, Pack Size and Description.
Warehouse damage and store returns separated by brand name and private label. Batch the cases according to the type of disposition (i.e.: reclamation, back-to-stock, donation or dump).
Handle recalls and return to vendors.
Coordinate and manage required physical inventories to insure an efficient and accurate count and process.
Work with routing, completing the short allocation process of DLX.
Monitor outside storage activities, including occasional inventory checks.
Troubleshoot WMS/ DLX warehouse issues.
Continue to train back up support for all the above mentioned activities.
Support and ensure adherence to Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with all legislated and required health and safety procedures. Maintain a safe and healthful work environment.
Work as a member of the AWG team so the total job responsibilities are met. Actions must always stress a sense of cooperation, integrity, tact and consideration with our members, associates and division management.
This position requires strong communication and computer skills with the ability to use and learn new technology. The Flawless Execution method will be utilized in all planning and communication. Management will be kept informed on planning, analysis, work performed and results. All records required by management must be complete, accurate and submitted on time.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE: Degree or equivalent; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and speak fluent English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Possess the ability to read and interpret departmental financial and operating statements, policy and procedure manuals. Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform a full range of motion for arms, legs, neck and back requiring strength and endurance; stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle pinch grip grasp or feel objects, tools or controls reach with hands and arms sometimes overhead or to areas of limited access and including a full reach of 84’ climb or balance bend or twist and turn stoop, squat kneel crouch or crawl, see talk or hear and task or smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
