Kennel Technician at Cooperstown Veterinary AssociatesAssociated Veterinary Partners (AVP), in partnership with Cooperstown Veterinary Associates, is seeking a Kennel Assistant.
Located in the picturesque town of Hartwick, NY, Cooperstown Veterinary Associates is dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care to the community and surrounding areas. Our practice prides itself on a compassionate, client-centered approach, ensuring that every pet receives the highest standard of medical care and personal attention.
Kennel Technician Responsibilities:
  • Feed, provide water, and administer medications to animals.
  • Monitor animal health and well-being.
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas.
  • Maintain overall facility cleanliness.
  • Provide exercise and playtime for animals, ensuring their physical and mental stimulation.
  • Maintain accurate logs of feeding, medication, and animal behavior.
  • Assist clients during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Provide updates and address client concerns.
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with animal handling.
  • Follow safety protocols and facility policies to ensure a safe environment for animals and staff.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to responsibly handle animals of various sizes, strengths, and energy levels, including behaviorally at-risk dogs.
  • Basic understanding of canine body language and behavior.
  • Positive and friendly attitude, with strong communication and listening skills.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and punctual.
  • Ability to work independently and think on your feet.
  • Desire to make a positive impact on the lives of animals.
  • Ability to work weekends.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Kennel Attendant (preferred).
