Our company is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Greaser to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the greasing, lubrication, and general visual inspections of various mechanical components used throughout our operations. This includes conveyor bearings, Ship Loaders, Bucket Elevators, and more. Your daily tasks will involve ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment, assisting in the development of operating policies, and performing corrective and preventive maintenance as needed. Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of all equipment.
• Perform daily lubrication of conveyor bearings, couplings, and electrical motors.
• Conduct visual inspections of gearboxes, chains, and drive components.
• Assist in developing operating policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Assist other Maintenance Department workers on tasks when needed.
• Perform various corrective and preventive maintenance and repair work as assigned.
• Report all incidents through the company’s reporting protocol.
• Support company safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
• Working Experience in the stevedoring industry is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Ability to relay any problems found verbally to supervisor.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, including holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts as needed.
• Physical fitness to perform all essential physical demands of this job safely.
• Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

The incumbent will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot-cool/cold as well as occasional rain. The job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools. Rotational shift work may be required at times. Ten or more hours per day spent in a work environment.

Physical Requirements

The physical nature of the work will vary from day to day based on operational needs; however, the job will require the incumbent to be able to perform the following while carrying a backpack tool bag: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. The Greaser will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: Hard Hat, eyewear, safety vests, gloves, masks/ respirators (when necessary) and steel-toe boots.
