GENERAL STATEMENT 

Under the supervision of the Fitness Coordinator, the weight room attendant monitors the weight room and exercise area and orients members on the various machines and equipment in those areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Minimum or no previous work experience required. Experience in customer service is ideal. Must be enrolled at California State University, Long Beach in at least six units and be in good standing.Must be certified in CPR, First Aid & AED within the first semester of being hired. Kinesiology majors are preferred but not required.

Knowledge and Abilities

Successful candidate will possess the ability to connect well with students.Must be willing to work with an ethnically and culturally diverse group of student staff and volunteers.Exceptional customer skills, dependability and punctuality are a must. Must be able to work under moderate supervision.

Other Qualifications

The applicant must be available to work evenings and weekends during the academic year. Hours during summer and winter breaks are to be determined by supervisor.
