Summer Activity Camp: All Sports Camp Instructor (Garfield)

The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is hiring an All Sports Camp Instructor. The instructor will be responsible for programming and delivering a sports class to kids aged 5-7. The instructor will be responsible for creating lessons and teaching the fundamentals of various sports such as: soccer, ultimate frisbee, flag football, volleyball, basketball, etc. The instructor must have the ability to engage with a diverse group of children and manage an Indoor/outdoor classroom of students. A passion for sports and games are a must!

Work Weeks:

• 1 week of camp: July 15-19

Camp Schedule:

• Daily Hours: 9:15am-1:45pm
• Paid prep time
• Work dates are contingent on camps meeting the minimum enrollment

Pay Range:

• $24.50-$26.50/hr

• Garfield Community Center

Summer Activity Camp: All Sports Camp Instructor Requirements:

• Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities to kids ages 5-7 for a camp running 4 hours per day, 20 hours a week
• Maintain documentation on camp participants to ensure security and youth safety- including but not limited to sign in sheets, medical needs and parenting plans
• Use critical thinking to problem-solve and manage conflict
• Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be some class supply funds available
• Maintain camp appropriate professional appearance
• Daily set-up, take down and cleaning of space

Summer Activity Camp: All Sports Camp Instructor Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Prior youth programming experience required
• Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships
