JOB SUMMARY

MRO Center Store Team Lead are responsible for leading and motivating the retail center store department team members and the MRO Center Store Specialist to encourage they are meeting all operational and merchandising expectations. They are responsible for maximizing center store department standards and operations by teaching proper stocking, ordering, and merchandising techniques. A MRO Center Store Team Lead contributes to the growth and development of the center store department team members and the MRO Center Store Specialist by training the skills and techniques to make their department successful. They are the go-to person for other operational specialists and conduct training of specialists as needed. They have the knowledge, experience and are a resource to those around them. Travel to assigned stores and visit with department manager and team to ensure all department standards are being met and coach and develop areas that need improvement.

Additional responsible for meeting all center store merchandising expectations for assigned special project stores. Special project store assignments include: remodels, re-sets, merchandising updates, ordering racks for center store sections, or other tasks as assigned by Retail Account Manager for the Center Store.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach and train department managers and MRO Center Store team members in the skills and techniques needed to be a successful center store department.
  • Encourage service mindset and focus of all center store department team members, be an example to all in customer and servant leadership through friendly and courteous behavior.
  • Communicate with managers and store director areas of center store department opportunities and areas of strength.
  • Communicate to the MRO Center Store Specialist programs, upcoming order events, new store projects and all information needed to communicate to assigned stores to build profitability with our MRO Retailers in center store departments.
  • Work on special projects, tasks, duties, and assignments as needed.
  • Encourage that all center stores are properly stocked and merchandised to meet company operational expectations.
  • Travel to assigned remodel stores and merchandise center store according to plan.
  • Perform re-sets, merchandising updates, and layout changes in center store as needed to meet plan.
  • Work with Retail Account Managers and Supervisor to accomplish all center store standards and merchandising expectations.
  • Work on special projects, tasks, duties, and assignments as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, some college preferred. Possess a vast knowledge of center store department operations and strong customer service along with a willingness to learn.
  • Three to five years retail and center store department management experience
  • Strong leadership, service, and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word, and Excel a plus
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business, regular on-site attendance is required.
  • Use of personal vehicle required to travel to retail locations.
