We are looking for a Recreational Therapy Assistant to join our team, our main focus is:
Adaptability - In this position, you should be able to adjust to new conditions. Change is a constant with our unique population of individuals
Cooperation - with a team, the RTA needs to be able to work closely with other teammates and be able to co-facilitate activities
Patience - An RTA needs to have the ability to endure difficult circumstances with a calmness.
Creativity - An RTA needs to have the ability to think outside the box. We are looking for someone with an imagination that can come up with original ideas.
The Recreational Therapy Assistant will assist with assessing the physical, emotional and social needs of developmental disabled adults through facilitation of games, sports, art, outdoor adventures and community inclusion. They will plan, organize, collaborate with other members of the team to create opportunities for our clients to have a better overall quality of life.
The Recreational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for the planning and facilitation of one-on-one RT activities with the individual and lead the RT small group program.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office and outside work environment. The employee is often exposed to outside weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, running, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Wednesday to Saturday 7:00am to 5:00pm. Nevertheless, days and hours of work may vary depending on the weekly schedules and clients' needs. Work hours may vary to be over 40 hours.
Travel:
Travel time is expected for this position.
Required education:
GED or High School diploma equivalency
Preferred education and experience
Recreational Therapists typically need a bachelor's degree.
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
