Equipment Operator – Alpine – Roads & Pads Group
The Equipment Operator reports directly to the Roads & Pads Foreman. The Equipment Operator is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating of the daily workload, and carrying out projects as well as the safe operation of our heavy equipment fleet.The Equipment Operator must be able to operate all equipment on the job site including, but not limited to, front-end loader, motor grader, excavator, snowblower, dozer, skid steer, fuel truck, super sucker, and tractor-trailer combinations. The duties of this position will involve maintaining roads, and drill site pads, including winter snow removal. Material handling and material organization on the pads. Other duties as assigned as business needs require, including occasional roustabout duties.
•Operate heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, motor graders, excavators, snow blowers, dozers, skid steers, fuel trucks, super suckers, and tractor-trailers to support Roads and Pads Operations & Maintenance at Alpine.
•Responsible for load inspections and properly securing equipment weighing up to 125,000 pounds. Must be able to interpret load charts and determine load capacities for different tractor-trailer configurations.
•Supplying the facilities, assisting in facility maintenance and construction with equipment support.
•Assist with crane activities such as boom configuration modifications, be competent in rigging and signaling.
•Provide equipment support for drilling rig moves.
•Be able and willing to perform physical labor such as installing roadway delineators, culvert covers, snow poles, pit liner installation. Set up signs, cones, candles, and other traffic control devices, set up work zone barriers etc.
•This position involves being able to become OSHA certified in trenching and excavation and to perform trenching and excavating activities in a safe and proficient manner.
•Be familiar with and capable of using rotary lasers and site levels to establish grade and set grade hubs and stakes.
•Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and timecards.
•Be able to monitor equipment operation, perform pre-operation inspections, identify malfunctions, fill out maintenance requests and clean equipment.
•Needs to be able to inspect, adjust, and perform minor equipment repairs.
•Help prepare and maintain inventory of supplies, PPE, equipment, and tools.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
•A Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements is required.
•A current DOT Medical Card is required.
•A minimum of three (3) years of dirt work experience is required.
•A minimum of three (3) years’ experience operating front-end loaders, motor graders, excavators, snow blowers, dozers, skid steers, fuel trucks, super suckers, and tractor-trailers is required.
•High School Diploma or GED is required.
•A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
•The ability to work 80.5 hours a week on a 3x3 rotation is required.
•At least three (3) – five (5) years’ experience working as an Equipment Operator in the Oil and Gas industry, Petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, or in an Arctic environment is preferred.
•A current OSHA Trenching and Excavation Safety certification is preferred.

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet are free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
