Duties & Responsibilities:

Personal Care Assistants (PCA)s provide a beneficial service to people who previously cared for themselves and handled basic life functions on their own but now rely on someone else to help them. Skilled and compassionate Personal Care Assistants (PCA)s have a way of developing a relationship and building trust with people who need their services.. Typical job duties and tasks of a PCA include:

  • Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding guest as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning, providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Maintains guest stability by checking vital signs; recording intake and output information.
  • Provides guest comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting; answering call lights and requests; reporting observations of the guest to nursing supervisor.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping guest information confidential.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Good listening skills
  • Excellent customer service, energized individual with compassion for assisting others
  • Willing to improve their standing by obtaining the Nurse Assistant certification (C.N.A.). Certification training is paid for by our organization.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Bilingual is a plus
