LOCATION:
Fort Hood (Killeen, TX) , just north of Austin. Most providers live north of Austin, Austin proper, or even farther south.
DEPARTMENT:
8 ORs, 1 GI suite, OB with 100-120 deliveries/month
CASES:
ASA 1-2, with the rare 3. General, ortho, ENT, healthy peds, DaVinci, endoscopy, OB. No heads, hearts, thoracic, vascular, spine, transplant, IR, or Cath lab.
PRACTICE:
Autonomous. Help is there if you need it. Docs do their own cases. Do your own blocks if desired or let the person assigned to blocks for the day do it. Great collegial/respected relationship with everyone, including surgeons.
SCHEDULE:
Work 8s, 10s, or 12s. Easy/individualized/flexible scheduling with the department. There are 5 existing contract CRNAs and 2 GS who do 24hr call shifts, and the rest of the department shares the rest of the hours. Only caveat is that you won’t work more than 80 hours in a two-week period. The department consists of 15 contract CRNAs (when this gets staffed), 3 GS CRNAs, and 15 Army CRNAs, and all are treated equally. The schedule flexibility benefits everyone; you rotate holidays, weekends, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Valid, unencumbered state license with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse action, in any state in the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
· BLS, ACLS, PALS
· Current OB / labor epidural experience (3 months or more in the past 12 months)
· Mandatory annual seasonal influenza vaccinations
