Reports To: Distribution Center Supervisor

Job Overview
As a Distribution Center Training Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the success and safety of our distribution center operations by delivering training programs to our DC team members. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement training initiatives that equip employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their roles effectively. You will also actively contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct training sessions for new hires, focusing on warehouse operations, safety procedures, equipment operation, and company policies.
  • Develop training materials, including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises, to support the onboarding and ongoing development of distribution center employees.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to identify training needs and develop targeted programs to address areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within distribution operations by gathering feedback from employees, analyzing processes, and implementing enhancements to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, and adjust as necessary.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support to employees who require additional assistance or remedial training.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Operations, and Safety, to ensure alignment and consistency in training initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline processes and improve efficiency in the distribution center.
  • Fill in as needed in DC roles to provide hands on execution of DC work.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School diploma required; advanced degree strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 3-5 years working in a distribution center or warehouse environment with relevant experiences; people leadership and/or training experience preferred.
  • Must be able to train on all shifts, including weekday evenings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Engages team members in a positive, dynamic way, building rapport across the team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate training schedules and business needs.
  • Travel may be required to support training initiatives at other distribution center locations.
  • This position is based in a distribution center environment and may require occasional lifting up to 40 pounds, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to stand, sit, and talk, walk and hear
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to operate at heights above 10ft
  • Valid Driver’s License or proof of a passing, recent vision exam required
