Under the direction of the Expand Learning Program Coordinator, the site leads the program for elementary-aged students in the Extended Learning program by supervising students and staff in classroom and outdoor activities.
- Coordinates and/or assists with daily program activities, creating positive and interesting learning environment
- Assists in overall program implementation, curriculum and administration as needed
- Leads and assists in supervision of students in various classroom activities in small and large groups
- Prepares material, reviews and creates lesson plans, researches and orders supplies for daily activities, takes attendance.
- Coordinates schedules, thinks creatively to engage students and staff to make learning fun
- Assists with homework help and provides enrichment activities, considers age level developmental needs and interests, supports students to experience a variety of learning opportunities, and creates a positive environment for learning.
- Works with Expanded Learning Coordinator and other staff to plan and implement the program to best meet the needs of students at specific age levels.
- Upholds school and after-school program behavior policies and safety procedures.
- Researches and shares resources and best practices with staff
- Assists in meeting compliance standards according to the Department of Education
- Communicates with parents regarding policy, behavior and learning focuses
- Performs administrative tasks as needed relating to the Expanded learning program
- Provides feedback and assists in planning trainings for staff, gathers input to assist in evaluation of program with the leadership team
- Assists in researching, coordinating with and working with vendors to implement effective academic and enrichment programs
- Helps plan and lead expanded learning programs during the summer and winter
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Preferred
Current TB test clearance
Background/ Fingerprints clearance
Valid Driver's License and transportation - driving to and from two school sites may be required.
Experience working with children/youth in a classroom or camp

- Skilled in using excel and related programs to organize data and schedules
- Work well on a team (as a leader or follower) and able to problem solve effectively

- Are fluent in Spanish
- Have work experience at a camp, rec or related children’s program
