ASN Constructors is Hiring a Survey Manager Near Fargo, ND

Description

ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who will work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. Position Summary

The Survey Manager will be responsible for determining distances, areas, and angles. This position will review/conduct topographical and construction surveys to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, grades, lines, areas, quantities, and contours for the earthworks project.

Responsibilities

  • Assist field staff with uploading and downloading of construction survey files.
  • Review files from field a-built and staking surveys prior to inclusion in quantity reports for Technical office
  • Review field procedures and assure adherence to survey policies and procedure manual.
  • Trouble shoot onsite GPS issues with survey staff and operations machine grading to assure accuracy of work.
  • Management of design files that field staff utilize in their construction staking activities.
  • Review and interpret project plans and specs for purpose of surveying. Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and present work performed. Coordinates findings with project superintendents and project managers and others concerned with the project.
  • Assist field staff when necessary to provide construction stakes marking cut/fill limits, new road alignments, construction limits, slopes, etc.
  • Maintain field data records, survey project files, and indexing systems
  • Assisting Survey Manager in staff scheduling and project need determination
  • Managing survey requests from internal and external requests within Earthworks operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of field survey methods and calculations.
  • Working knowledge of local survey laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of CAD standards and relevant software programs including AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, and related software.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of land surveying, as it relates to construction and topographic surveying.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to needs of the project.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Five (5) years of experience of progressive responsibility in similar earthworks survey positions
  • Minimum one year experience managing survey teams in heavy civil earthworks projects
  • Valid Driver's License required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

* This position is primarily indoors.

* This work environment may involve minimal exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
