This is a hands-on position performing general maintenance duties to keep the facility in good operating condition. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general building maintenance to include painting, carpentry, plumbing and repair. Perform projects that include working with sheet-rock, wall vinyl, etc. Maintain shop equipment and workstation with attention to safety and housekeeping. Perform preventative maintenance on various pieces of mechanical equipment. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervisor immediately. Perform other duties as assigned by Facility Engineer. Qualifications Knowledge of electrical systems as it relates to maintenance. Skill in mechanical maintenance. Ability to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time on hard-surface floor. Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to operate a forklift. Education and/or Experience Two or more years of experience in general maintenance. Able to read and understand English. Working Environment/Conditions Some exposure to adverse conditions. May be exposed to weather conditions May require being In and out of doors several times a day May be limited exposure to heat and cold, dust, pollen, fumes Hours of Work and Travel Requirements Minimum of 40 hours per week. Some overtime may be required. Irregular hours including weekend, evenings and holidays, as determined by event schedule. May require extended hours as determined by event schedule.
