Procurement Specialist

What Will You Do?

You will be responsible for facilitating communication between Manufacturing Operations, Design, Engineering and Purchasing to collect data to support the selection of primary and secondary suppliers of raw materials, components and / or MRO supplies that offer the best-delivered value to the Ashley Companies.

Perform initial price negotiations with suppliers as needed. Serve as the company representative to prospective suppliers, communicate company needs and gather information from suppliers regarding their products and services.

Provide recommendations to the Global Commodity Manager on best course of action based on initial price negotiations and supplier selection research.

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field, Required
  • 2 years of purchasing experience with a background in sourcing, negotiating, quality assurance APICS and / or ISM certification is a bonus!
  • Knowledge of materials management software programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Perform well in a fast-paced work environment
