Administrative Service members are the backbone of the AVFRD, providing the non-emergency services that support the daily operations and mission of the department. AVFRD needs individuals to lead and assist in many areas and with many jobs, including:

Getting involved in a committee is the best way to engage on the support services side, and for our operational members to give a little bit more of their time and unique talents to the mission of our company. Minimum Position Requirements

The Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) is committed to protecting the lives and property of Ashburn and Loudoun County residents and visitors by providing the best possible fire, rescue, emergency and medical response services. We pledge to perform our duty with courage and dedication. We strive to be active in our community and proactive with public education and prevention campaigns. AVFRD has been serving the community since 1944. Currently, AVFRD has approximately 200 active members. We are your neighbors, friends, and co-workers; men and women; married and single. We go ...to school or have full-time day jobs in a wide range of occupations. But we share one professional goal to be there when you need us. Neighbors Helping Neighbors. AVFRD volunteers respond to calls from Station 6 in Ashburn and Station 22 in Lansdowne. AVFRD is part of a combination volunteer and career system; Volunteers are on duty at both stations between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. to staff a total of two fire engines, one truck/tower and two ambulances each night while Loudoun County career personnel provide day-side coverage. Whether its a medical emergency, a car accident or a house fire, AVFRD answers your calls for help. Through continuous education and training, were prepared when you need us. We work to educate the public on fire and accident prevention. We host several community activities pancake breakfasts, Open Houses and our annual Santa Parade as well as numerous fundraising events. We also participate in and provide stand-by services at various community activities such as sporting events, races, parades, fairs, concerts and fireworks displays. AVFRD is always looking for hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our team as firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) or administrative (the support team) members. No prior fire/rescue experience is necessary. Free training is provided. Find out more about the opportunities available.
