Position Summary

The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is responsible providing friendly employee support at all company facilities for payroll and benefits related needs and requests. The individual provides efficient and accurate assistance to employees with the ability to understand and provide direction of employee needs. The individual is responsible for processing payroll, reviewing benefits related to payroll processing and monthly related tasks, along with completing New Hire and personnel change form requests, and other related tasks. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, and a firm understanding of Excel and other Microsoft Office platforms. The individual must be able to communicate effectively with employees, team members and management at all facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Running payroll

• Review and approve Fidelity payments after the payroll data transfer

• Resolve any payroll discrepancies and answer employee questions

• Process New Hires

• Process Personnel Change Forms

• Activate/deactivate employees as needed depending on the season

• Process employee warnings and garnishments

• Placing help wanted ads

• Employment verifications

• Monitor U-16s employees

• Complete Non-Discrimination Testing for 401K and FSA

• Work with Director of Finance to complete 5500

• Complete government surveys

• Complete monthly benefit analysis for Director of Finance to reconcile for billing

• Monitor and work with Paylocity for open enrollment period

• Assist Director of Finance with Workers Comp Audit

• Assist Director of Finance with some budget lines needed for payroll budgets

• Calculating payroll deductions as needed

• Reach out to CPR contact regarding scheduling CPR training each summer

• Run CPR check in and enrollment process for Summer Kickoff

• Launch Code of Conducts through Paylocity for each season

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Working knowledge of how a payroll and benefits department operate

• Undergraduate Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

• Strong computer and Excel skills

• Able to multitask

• Strong Attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills

• Organization and time management

Preferred Experience:

· Paylocity and/or other payroll system experience

Expected Hours of Work:

Full time during regular business hours

Expected Work Locations:

· Ashburn Ice House: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday

· MedStar Capitals Iceplex: Wednesday and Thursday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
