Position : Quarry Laborer

Reports to : Quarry Manager

Shift : Swing Shift

What you’ll be contributing :

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Performs clean-up duties while stationed, as designated, by the primary crusher, cone crusher, shale crusher and secondary crusher.

Provides assistance to crusher operators as needed

• Performs general clean-up duties in all areas of the quarry.
• Unplugs chutes, feeders and crushers as needed.
• Operates equipment such as the backhoe and small loader per conditions specified in the labor contract.
• Transports and loads blasting powder and assists Driller / Laborer position.
• Assists mechanical maintenance personnel as appropriate.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

To succeed in this position, you will need :

• High school graduation or equivalent
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn

What to expect in a cement environment :

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures.
