JOB SUMMARY:

Ascot's Professional Liability, Healthcare Business unit is seeking a motivated Assistant Vice President, Professional Liability, Healthcare to assist in growing a diverse suite of Healthcare Professional driven products. The Assistant Vice President, Professional Liability, Healthcare will be responsible for the profitability, growth and retention of an assigned book of business, within an assigned territory. Primary responsibilities will include underwriting new and renewal business, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES :
  • Assist in the buildout of the allied healthcare underwriting platform and policy wording.
  • Individually contribute to the underwriting production, integrity, and profitability of all Healthcare Professional Liability products.
  • Utilize data and analytics to improve the productivity of the Group and the broker experience.
  • Develop and maintain broker and client relationships throughout the United States.
  • Work closely with the Claims team to ensure that the products are performing as designed and that we have a ground up view of the loss scenarios and take appropriate remediation action.
  • Interact with the Compliance department for all products to ensure business is operating in accordance with all corporate guidelines and procedures.
  • Develop deep understanding of Ascot's product offering across all AscotPRO business units.
  • Willingness to work on high volume of small- to medium-sized risks.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the local marketplace within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
  • 4 years relevant work experience in allied healthcare or Healthcare Professional Liability underwriting.
  • Relevant work experience underwriting telehealth, life sciences, or regulatory medical billing risks preferred but not required.
  • Exercises sound judgement, with strong decision-making skills.
  • Provides excellent service to internal & external clients.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across Ascot's footprint.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaborative skills in a fast-paced team-centric environment.
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to successfully negotiate in difficult situations with brokers.
  • Travel up to 15%

Compensation

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $160,000 - $175,000.
