Ascent is looking to fill a full-time position for a People Resources Specialist to join our People Resources team in one of our offices.

Ascent is looking for an experienced People Resources Specialist to join our People Resources team. At Ascent, our People Resource Specialists provide excellent support, kindness, and creative solutions for all employees. We value the unique contributions of our team members and this position empowers you to use your unique skillsets as we execute a variety of human resources programs. The People Resources Specialist would be responsible for supporting and implementing our human resources policies and initiatives in addition to forecasting needs for change or enhancement. The ideal candidate has 3-7 years working in a human resources department focusing on delivering programs surrounding recruiting, mentoring, wellness, employee engagement, and other people resources programs. The People Resources Specialist will work collaboratively amongst the People Resources team and other Ascent employees on a regular basis.
IN A TYPICAL WEEK AS AN ASCENT PEOPLE RESOURCES SPECIALIST, YOU MIGHT:
  • SUPPORT day-to-day HR-related tasks and collaborate with People Resources leaders and team members to offer coaching, guidance, and advice on people matters and policies.
  • PARTICIPATE in the development and administration of employee programs and policies that align with our culture and evolving employee needs and preferences, including programs related to DEI, recruiting/hiring, and engagement, as well as other people resources programs as determined.
  • SUPPORT, create, and implement internal HR programs, events, and initiatives.
  • PARTNER with our People Resources team and leaders to enrich our retention and employee development strategies, including attracting, training, and implementing performance and career development solutions for employees and managers.
  • ESTABLISH working relationships with all teams and Ascent staff and promote the Core Values of the organization.
  • ASSIST with other HR special projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A./B. S.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education, and experience.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification desired.
  • One to three years of experience in assistance with HR related projects/management and implementation.?
  • Strong written, organization, and analytical skills, desired
  • Forward-thinking, detailed-oriented, personable
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with proven time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and organize complex information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, and leaders
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems. Experience using Paylocity is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
Travel
  • Limited travel may be required.
