Job Title: Production Supervisor

Reporting: Production Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

Required:

• Work directly with and be responsible for the supervision of hourly production employees
• Be actively engaged in and support a safety focused work environment by upholding the company’s safety guidelines and policies
• Participate in incident investigations and assist in development and initiation of corrective and preventive actions
• Maintain safe and clean work environment
• Ensure compliance with all environmental rules, laws, and regulations.
• Execute daily production plan by establishing priorities, assigning personnel, monitoring progress, resolving problems, and reporting progress on shift production summaries.
• Be knowledgeable and assist, as necessary, in all production processes and areas.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve production related issues
• Follow up on maintenance needs to ensure safe and timely repairs
• Assist with the onboarding process of new hires
• Provides training and certify operators on job roles in all production areas of the plant.
• Conduct annual reviews for staff performance
• Review applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on a regular frequency
• Issue and reconcile raw materials to batch jobs
• Verify and scan finished production into the necessary system
• Monitor finished and raw material inventory and communicate gaps
• Complete other tasks as directed by management

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in chemical production or related field or degreed equivalent
• 2 years supervisory experience
• Strong commitment to safety
• Strong knowledge of organizational workflow and ability to delegate by assigning responsibilities
• Knowledge of all essential equipment and ability to troubleshoot issues
• Ability to generate and submit reports on performance and progress
• Proficiency with computers and computer software, such as with Microsoft Office and RMP systems
• Strong training skills to onboard new employees and train employees on all tasks
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and results-driven
• Availability to work a 8-hour or 12-hour shift covering a 24/7 and a 24/5 production schedule
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
• Ability to effectively read, write, and verbally communicate in English

Preferred:

• Experience in a PSM manufacturing environment
• Experience with PLC and/or DCS controls
• Direct knowledge of specific manufacturing processes
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S
