Responsibilities

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

• Aid with movement and placement of patients.

• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.

• Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

• Document necessary records.

• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

Bachelors Degree in a social service field (education, social work, communications, counseling, etc)

1 years experience working with adolescents

1 year experience working in a hospital or mental health setting

Interest in the field of Behavioral and Mental Health services

This role requires: Strong administrative and organizational skills. There is a lot of admin technical work that the PCT would be responsible for, including billing, documenting attendance and other projects in RED-Cap, managing the electronic chair-board, ordering supplies, navigating our EMR to pull clinical and link it to the chair-board, etc. This person will also work with insurance to do discharge notifications and do all the admission paperwork with any new patient coming into the program.

Experience working with high school-aged kids. The PCT will be the only support person to the therapist here at night, with 12 teens, in the entire department. So they will need to be able to have strong boundaries and experience working with teenagers.

Being a mental health program, the PCT would also need to have some experience de-escalating and crisis interventions. If a teen has a crisis or panic attack during the therapy session or if a teen needs to go to the ED during group, the therapist will need support from a PCT who has experience with mental health acuity.
