Our Client is a advocacy group in the financial services industry and they are currently in search of a skilled Accounting Consultant to join our team on a temporary basis, with the potential for permanent employment. The ideal candidate will be tasked with the critical role of rectifying payroll and billing discrepancies following the departure of their previous controller. This position requires an individual capable of demonstrating exceptional accuracy and efficiency in financial operations, particularly in payroll processing for our team of 30. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our financial processes during this transitional period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a thorough review and cleanup of existing payroll and billing systems to correct errors and ensure accuracy.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for a team of 30 employees using ADP.
• Manage and reconcile all billing activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
• Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial procedures and controls.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new financial policies and procedures to prevent future discrepancies.
• Work closely with the finance team to ensure all financial operations are conducted in line with state and federal regulations.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience in payroll processing and financial reconciliation, ideally within an educational or similar institutional setting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and ADP payroll systems is mandatory.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with state and federal financial regulations.
