Primary Function
Terminal Leaders influence the core of our business, are responsible for managing the day-to-day transportation operations; taking ownership and responsibly for the growth and profitability of assigned terminal and those working within it to achieve service integrity. Oversees all activities tied to assigned terminal, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively for all lines of business within, meeting organizational requirements and customer expectations.
Accountabilities
  • Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with company values and is goal oriented.
  • Monitor performance, coach, mentor, and develop staff for professional growth; provide feedback to support individual growth and development as well as operational growth for terminal location. Develop future leaders.
  • Collaborate, allocate, and coordinate resources with other managers to formulate practices that drive enhanced results.
  • Oversee all terminal operations, ensuring employees have growth and development plans, providing training as needed.
  • Lead and influence operations team by ensuring each member understands their role and impact withing the organization.
  • Utilize organizational reports to identify opportunities for improvement in all areas such as fleet productivity, equipment utilization, data accuracy, deadhead, driver retention, and service integrity.
  • Gather and analyze data to drive operational decisions in all aspects.
  • Enforce understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Manage, direct, and lead all functions within a terminal, ensure terminal facility conditions are in accordance with company policies, satisfies all industry regulations; communicate and coordinate all opportunities accordingly with shop management to resolve, collectively.
  • Possess good decision-making skills and multi-tasking ability to handle the daily balance of the operations management of drivers, staff, and adherence to company guidelines and procedures for positive results.
  • Ability to balance people needs with staffing needs to successfully meet the needs and requirements of the operation; ensure knowledge of every position of the operation to be able to handle tasks accordingly.
