About the Job:
Ascend Vision Partners is a rapidly growing ophthalmology management group expanding throughout the Southeastern United States. We are looking for candidates to join our team of dedicated professionals who are excited to work for a company that is expanding quickly.
 
Reporting to the Senior Billing Manager, the Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately billing patients and insurance carriers as well as maximizing payment amount and turn-around time.
Job Responsibilities:
  • The Medical Billing primary responsibility is to scrub all claims to send electronically and via mail if required. The accuracy of these entries is of the utmost importance to the Clinic in order to ensure clean claim submission.
  • It is the responsibility of this individual to report any problems with the system to the Billing & Coding Manager immediately.
  • The Medical Biller must be well acquainted with the computer system, CPT and ICD-10 coding and with the Clinic’s charges.
  • This individual must be available to assist the Billing & Coding Manager in monitoring the overall efficiency of the Department to ensure accurate patient and insurance billing.
  • They must possess knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
  •  Daily charge entry.
  • Weekly billing (I.e., set up, printing, and sending).
  •  Response to billing phone calls and questions.
  • Maintain billing tracker for any pending information needed in order to ensure clean claim submission and avoid timely denials.
Education and Experience:
  • High School or Equivalent.
  • Type 50 words per minute accurately.
  • CPT and ICD-10 coding.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a medical office preferred.
Our office hours are from 8:00am - 5:00pm.
