ASCEND is seeking (2) Overnight Residential Specialist to assist our clients in our Supportive Housing programs in Glens Falls and Hudson Falls. This is an awake position.

The schedule will be (3) 10-hour shifts weekly for each open position. This is considered a full-time and benefit-eligible role.

A shift differential of $2 per hour is given to hours worked between 11pm-7am.

A sign-on bonus is also available for this position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Obtain pertinent information from Residential Specialists when reporting for shift, and pass on pertinent information to Residential Specialists at end of shift.
• Supervise resident self-administration of medications as indicated by program.
• Assure security of residence throughout shift.
• Be readily available to all residents throughout shift.
• Encourage effective communication, personal and interpersonal awareness and independence among staff and residents.
• Instruct residents in the use of house equipment, safety procedures and routines as necessary.
• Be attentive to the residence and its functioning, make small repairs as needed and inform supervisor of larger maintenance issues.
• Complete appropriate paperwork as necessitated.
• Implement fire drills and report safety concerns to supervisor immediately.*
• Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and required in-service trainings.
• Provide behavioral intervention when necessary and work with residents to utilize self-control/improved coping skills in de-escalation.
• Represent the agency in a positive manner.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent, with at least two years’ experience working in direct service provision in the human services field.
• Valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to Agency insurance standards.
• Must be of good character and background and display an affinity for working with people with mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.

Must have the ability to work independently, have good problem solving skills and have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
