Ascend Medical is Hiring a CRNA Near Lincoln, NE

The Ophthalmic CRNA is responsible for administering anesthetic agents relative to ophthalmic procedures, including determining the choice of anesthetic and performing pre-anesthesia, intra-operative anesthesia, and post-anesthesia management. This position is also responsible for providing quality care to the patient under anesthesia and keeping accurate records of the patient’s status.

  • Provide appropriate pre-anesthesia, intra-operative, and post-anesthesia management of the patient.
  • Perform a pre-anesthetic assessment and determine the choice of the anesthetic agent and administration technique.
  • Prepare necessary anesthesia medications and supplies. Prepare the anesthesia machine according to the manufacturer’s set up protocol.
  • Induce anesthesia, including airway and life support functions during the period in which anesthesia is administered.
  • Recognize and take appropriate corrective action (including the request for consultation when necessary) for abnormal patient responses to anesthesia or to any adjunctive medication or other forms of therapy.
  • Accompany the patient to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) following an operation, advise personnel responsible for the post-anesthetic care about the patient’s post-anesthetic condition, and record pertinent information in the patient’s medical record.
  • Provide consultation relating to various other forms of patient care, such as respiratory therapy and emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as problems in pain relief.
  • Provide education and guidance to the hospital nursing and ancillary staff as appropriate and needed.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and anesthesia, currently licensed to practice in the State of Nebraska as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Current licensure from a compact state requires Nebraska to be declared as their primary state of residence within thirty (30) days and must also obtain a Nebraska temporary permit or nursing license. Current BLS required at the time of hire.
