Asbury University is Hiring a Save, and Spend Near Wilmore, KY

Job Details

Asbury University seeks applicants to serve as a facilitator for the online offering of BU 281 Give, Save and Spend. Course topics will include personal family budgeting and banking, insurance, financial loans, income tax, and retirement taught through a Biblical lens. The primary responsibility of a course facilitator is to provide support to the course Professor-of-Record (POR) to ensure the effective delivery of the required materials and to foster a positive learning environment. Regular communication and feedback between the POR and facilitator is important to ensure expectations are met. Course facilitators may be expected to:

  • facilitate a small section of a course,
  • assist with onboarding students into the course,
  • assist individual or small groups of students with course content,
  • grade homework, exams, and other written assignments for the assigned section of the course,
  • meet with students during the determined number of synchronous sessions throughout the course,
  • take attendance or monitor participation,
  • disburse course materials,
  • lead and help maintain student discussion groups, and
  • communicate with POR any issues, potential problems, or suggestions for improvement as the course unfolds.

Course facilitators are formally assessed by the POR following University and/or School determined evaluation guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have a graduate degree in a business discipline and experience in Biblically based personal finance. Candidates with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in a business discipline will also be considered. Experience with Compass-finances God’s way material is beneficial. This is an online asynchronous dual credit course, offered to high school students primarily in Kentucky.
