Nurse Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor residents throughout the assigned shift to assure that prescribed treatment is being properly administered as assigned to other RN's, LVN's or delegated to nursing assistants. Record findings in the residents’ chart via PointClickCare electronic patient care system.
• Receive verbal orders from attending/alternate physician and chart on the physician’s order sheet and inform Supervisor of changes.
• Notify the resident’s attending/alternate physician,Supervisor, as well as the resident’s legal guardian representative, if the resident becomes critically ill, injured, etc.
• Administer medication
• Take TPRs, blood pressures, etc. and chart as required
• Lead assigned staff with hand-on approach to provide highest quality of care

Requirements:

• Applicants must possess a valid and current Nursing license in the state of Texas or applicable Compact license.
• Experience in a long term care facility is preferred.
