Asbestos Experts a leading Asbestos Abatement contractor, is looking for a full-time Abatement Technician. The following is a general outline of what is required of the candidate

Pay Rate:

• Non certified $16/hour
• ASCI Certified $18-$22 depending on experience

Job Duties

• Perform environmental remediation, asbestos, mold, lead, fungal, and biohazard contaminants removal according to provincial legislative regulations
• Remove and dispose of the related work debris on residential, commercial and industrial sites, while ensuring all health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Responsible for the completion of hazard assessments.
• Provide excellent customer service
• Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
• Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information
• Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
• Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
• Comply with all Asbestos Experts policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements
• Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
• This role could be required to act as a “lead” periodically as designated by their manager
• Project professional appearance/image.
• Problem solving and decision making.
• Read product labels, safety signage, work orders, etc.
• Hear direction from others, including warning signals and use telephones.
• Interact professionally and effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Maintain valid driver’s license.
• Lift and carry 50 pound items.
• Enter damaged structures and potentially toxic environments.
• Able to wear appropriate PPE for extended time periods.
• Out of town travel required.
• Occasional overnight stays required out of town. (Cost will be covered)

Requirements:

• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to pass drug and background check
• Posses basic hand tools

***Demolition experience is preferred but not required

***Asbestos Abatement experience is preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
