Arvest Bank is Hiring a Consumer Loan Assistant Near Muskogee, OK

Position is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work additional hours as needed.

Incumbent can be located at either 230 W. Broadway, Muskogee, OK or 1521 W HWY 51, Wagoner, OK.

This position will mainly focus on assisting with Consumer Construction Loans.

Exempt: No

Salary Grade: Grade 11

SUMMARY: Under close supervision the incumbent provides support for the department and enables lenders and managers to effectively generate quality consumer loans for the bank. The incumbent processes quality consumer loans and ensures the successful delivery of loan related services quickly, accurately, courteously and in a confidential manner. Majority (60%) of time is spent on Consumer loans, however incumbent may support other lending functions. Such tasks include but are not limited to processing and funding loans, loading applications, managing reports, and filing liens.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Assist customers with the application process and close loans according to internal policies and procedures.

2. Communicate with Consumer Loan Underwriting (CLU), Group Appraisal, and Consolidated Loan Support (CLS) regarding the processing of loans. Provide information in an efficient manner so loans can be processed timely for customers.

3. Obtain credit information and ensure sufficient loan collateral and documentation for consumer loans.

4. Work the Technical Exceptions (TE) list to ensure that bank security interests in the files are perfected in a timely manner.

5. Complete and retain all compliance-related documents (HMDA, Regulation B and Regulation Z).

6. Recognize selling opportunities and effectively cross-sell bank products and make referrals.

7. Review loan documents prior to closing (legal descriptions, closing dates, etc.) and close loans with customers.

8. Perform post-closing reviews to ensure that loan files contain documents with proper signature, dates and other relevant data.

9. Disburse loan funds after closing and image loan documents within established timelines. Ensure on-going maintenance of loans in the system to meet the bank’s and customer’s needs.

10. Answer customer inquiries for consumer loans and/or guide them to the correct associate that can assist them.

11. Provide general administrative support to lenders and/or managers.

12. Maintain office and documentation supplies.

13. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Successful completion Fundamentals of Consumer Lending is required within the first 90 days
  • One (1) year banking or other related work experience required
  • Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
  • Arvest experience preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close distance, and color vision. In addition, the ability to adjust focus is necessary to perform this function.
