Arvest Bank is Hiring an Assistant Branch Manager Bilingual Near Fort Smith, AR

Position requires flexibility Monday through Friday 7:15 am to 6:15 pm and rotating Saturdays 8:45 am to 1:15 pm.

Position is located at 4800 Kelley Highway, Fort Smith, AR

SUMMARY: Under the supervision and direction of the Branch Sales Manager, the incumbent provides support in the management of a branch location. The incumbent is responsible for a large portion of sales efforts to enhance and retain the retail customer base. The incumbent is required to draw from experience gained in order to make on-the-job decisions and communicate decisions in a tactful manner. Additional responsibilities include efforts related to customer service, branch operations and security. The Assistant Branch Manager will directly supervise front line associates. Should the Branch Sales Manager be called out of the branch, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and supervision of the branch associates during the manager’s absence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Contribute to the achievement of branch sales goals through a consultative sales approach with new and existing customers following the sales process defined in the CFB Retail Sales Playbook. Follow up with customers as appropriate.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring of associates on sales and service techniques. Ensure associates have the needed tools to deliver exceptional customer service levels.
  • Ensure in-depth knowledge of Arvest products and services among all staff members. This includes digital services and delivery options. Support customer usage of products and services that will provide the services they need in the manner most convenient for them. Maintain in-depth understanding of competitor products, practices, facilities and processes in order to ensure successful sales of Arvest bank products
  • Provide exceptional customer service by acknowledging every customer promptly, smiling and greeting each customer, introducing yourself, using eye contact, and thanking the customer.
  • Use sound judgment in the application of bank standards, policies and procedures regarding customers. Branch should have no exceptions as addressed by internal audit or examiners.
  • Work closely with various areas of Retail Bank Operations to ensure standard procedures and practices are followed and maintained.
  • Has primary accountability for the vault, which includes balancing, being the point person to receive reports of offages, and is in charge of directing appropriate action plans as a result of any offage. The incumbent may delegate vault duties to appropriate staff, but maintains primary accountability.
  • Oversee branch in manager’s absence and ensure appropriate security guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Attend various weekly and monthly meetings and communicate appropriately.
  • Supervise Tellers and day-to-day operations of the teller line. Enforce teller operating procedures and ensure sound internal controls are followed at all times.
  • Work closely with Retail Bank Operations to maintain appropriate branch cash to include teller drawers, cash recyclers/dispensers and vaults within established limits.
  • Be able to perform all duties of the teller and FSR to fill in for breaks, lunches etc.
  • Identify opportunities to sell consumer loans. Accept consumer loan applications and facilitate loan closings. Must work effectively with centralized underwriting department.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

  • Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation.
  • Foster and promote the proper bank image at all times.
  • Maintain involvement in community affairs to foster and promote the proper bank image at all times.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

May directly supervise one or more associates as assigned by the Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ensure direct reports have completed required compliance training and are adhering to all internal procedures and controls as it relates to bank policy, laws, regulations and Arvest’s BSA/AML Program. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank’s procedures and guidelines for such change of status events. The incumbent provides training, planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 2 years’ experience in a retail banking environment or equivalent related work experience required.
  • 1 year previous sales experience required.
  • Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Consumer Lending, FSR Training, Teller Training and CBS/Signature Training preferred.
  • Arvest experience preferred.
  • Associate degree preferred.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Must possess a working knowledge of banking regulations, economic development in the community that could benefit the bank, bank's policies and procedures, accounting, teller and security functions and/or equivalent management experience in a cash handling position.
