Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate inventory control, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents, and accurately record received items
- Inspect packages for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate parties
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely and labeling them correctly
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Stock shelves and organize inventory in an efficient manner
- Operate a forklift to move materials within the warehouse
- Assist with order picking and order fulfillment as needed
- Utilize warehouse management systems (AS400, MRP) to track inventory and manage orders
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations preferred
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (AS400, MRP)
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving procedures, including package handling and stock management
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills to interact with team members, carriers, and other stakeholders
