Rate Type: All Inclusive
Rate: $89-$94/Hr.
Guaranteed Hours: 40
Overtime Type: By the Week
Overtime Starts After: 40
On Call Rate: $6.3 per hour pager
Call Back Minimum (Hrs.): 2 Hour Minimum
Call Back Rate: 1.5 X All Inclusive Rate (Time & 1/2)
Holiday Rate: 1.5 X All Inclusive Rate (Time & 1/2)

Sub Specialties: Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA)
Certifications/Requirements: BLS/BCLS, RNFA
Duties:
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 7a-3:30p
- Call requirement - Every 3rd weekend call rotation (Friday 1530 to Monday 0700), weeknight call TBD
- Looking for experienced and highly skilled RNFA with strong background in Cardiovascular Surgery and Heart and Lung Transplantation. Must have excellent endoscopic vessel harvesting expertise.
Job Summary:
- Performs role of surgical assistant for a variety of surgical procedures under direct supervision of attending surgeon. Performs role of circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse when required. Assesses patient status, maintains a save care environment, manages equipment use and delegates/directs care provided by Surgical Technologists and other support personnel.
Responsibilities include
- Collaborate with the cardiovascular surgery team to provide high-quality patient care
- Assist in a variety of cardiovascular surgical procedures, including CABG, Aortic Reconstruction, complex valve surgery, Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy, Ross Procedure, ECMO, vascular access, sternal closure, etc.
- Utilize excellent endoscopic vessel harvesting expertise to enhance surgical outcomes
- Comfortable operating within an academic-style cardiac program
- Uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and clinical excellence
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree: Nursing (Required)
- Graduate of accredited school of Nursing; successful completion of additional educational preparation specific to the role of RNFA including supervised clinical component (Required)
- Three (3) years experience in Cardiovascular Surgery and Heart/Lung Transplantation (Required)
- General Experience demonstrating skills in intraoperative nursing behaviors - handling tissue, using instruments, providing exposure, providing hemostasis (Required)
- BLS - must be AHA (Required)
- CNOR - Certified Nurse Operating Room (Required)
- RN-LIC - Registered Nurse License (Required)
- ACLS (Preferred)
- CFA - Certified First Assistant (Preferred)
