ARTISTIC CONCRETE is Hiring a Construction Laborer Near Des Moines, IA
Job Purpose:Perform a wide variety of duties in a safe, quality and productive manner in concrete grinding/sealing/polishing, joint filling/sealing, epoxy flooring in a commercial construction environment.
Essential job functions
- Regularly working in wet conditions
- Prepare floors for a variety of processes
- Ability to set up, maintain, and clean equipment and tools
- Perform basic inspections of equipment i.e. oil, fuel, electrical connections
- Sweep, mop, squeegee and scrape floors while walking backwards
- Grinding concrete surfaces with large walk behind grinders or hand grinders
- Drill or cut out concrete imperfections to prepare the area for patching
- Operate hand sprayers to seal concrete
- Pour, mix and work with various chemical solvents
- Notify Supervisor when equipment needs repair or maintenance
Non-Essential Job Functions Perform other duties as assigned
- Communicate respectfully with co-workers and management
- Ability to back up trucks with trailers
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Mechanically inclined with willingness to learn
Requirements Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license Dependable transportation

- High school Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Wear proper personal protective equipment
- Capable to add, subtract, multiply, divide and read a tape measure
- Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
Physical Requirements Lift up to 30lbs frequently, 50lbs occasionally and 100lbs rarely * Walk, stand, bend, twist/turn, kneel, crouch, sit and reach overhead regularly
- Working environment can be loud
- Grasp various hand tools as necessary
- Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions
- Operate vehicles, vacuums, power washers, concrete saw, generators, ride on scrubbers, joint filler machine, tuck pointer, hand grinder, 12 volt sprayer and large electrical equipment
- Ability to wear a respirator

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
