About Artisan:

Artisan Music Studios, a company dedicated to bolstering arts and music education in the public schools of MA, branched out into the world of childcare in 2009. Since that time, the implementation of our four music-focused childcare centers has been so successful that most locations, now operate on a waiting-list basis. At Artisan Childcare Center, children ranging in age from 6 weeks through 6 years receive formal, professionally-taught music lessons every day.

Artisan Music Studios is in search of a professional music instructor. The ideal candidate would teach music and movement lessons to our infant and toddler age groups, as well as daily piano and violin lessons to our preschool age group. Lessons will take place on-site at two of our childcare center locations (Weston and Cambridge). Artisan allows instructors to enjoy teaching, while taking care of all of the billing and administrative duties!

Job Description:

At Artisan Childcare Center, music is the core of our program. The position includes teaching daily piano and violin lessons to our preschool class at our Weston location, traveling to our Cambridge location and teaching music and movement to 2 more classrooms. Each lesson should be 20 minutes; with transitions, breaks and travel time built into the daily schedule, this candidate can expect to work roughly 1-2 hours. However, Artisan is a growing company with opportunity for advancement within. This position would begin as part time and have the potential to grow to full time. We would love to find a teacher who aspires towards professional growth within the field.

The right candidate will develop music and movement curricula specifically tailored to the infant and toddler age groups, including early music concepts. He/She must have a strong vocal presence and present an engaging persona in the classroom. Incorporating the provided child-sized instruments is required; implementation of other fun options, like puppets is encouraged.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in music, performance or teaching strongly preferred.

- Experience teaching young children 6 weeks-6 years

- Able to provide one's own reliable transportation to/from both locations

- 2 years of experience teaching Music & Movement lessons to infants and toddlers

- Compensation: $30 - $40 per hour
