General Description:
The Quality Technician is responsible to maintain the gauge calibration system and Quality lab. The Quality Technician is also
responsible for performing part layouts, gauge layouts, and capability studies. The Quality Technician reports to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Support and follow the Company Safety Programs
  • Support and follow Quality & Environmental Programs
  • Follow systems to maintain the gauge calibration, sample and metrology lab in compliance with the requirements of IATF 16949
  • Use metrology equipment, check fixtures, hand tools to perform part layouts, gauge layouts, and gauge studies and document results.
  • Monitor production schedule and provide samples, fixtures and other tools as needed.
  • Use system for receiving and maintaining fixtures, gages and samples
  • Assist with problem solving – root cause analysis – corrective & preventative actions
  • Assist with training and instruction for production operators in QA measuring procedures
  • Development and maintenance of quality procedures and work instructions
  • Support all quality processes for the Clyde facility
  • Other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted
  • Perform Gauge Reliability and Reproducibility (GRR) studies.
  • Previous experience in management of gauge calibration systems in compliance with
IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Monitor production processing via product audits
  • Ability to comprehend technical specifications, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT), and math data.
  • Familiar with the use of a CMM, scanners, hand tools and other measurement equipment.
  • Computer literate (proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word).
  • Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work 2nd and 3rd shifts as needed.
Job Location:
Performed in the office, quality lab, and on the production floor. Some travel as required
Equipment Used:
Company computer with appropriate software, measuring instruments and devices, and personal protective equipment.
