Job Description
Role : Data Replication Specialist
Location : Woodlawn, MD (Hybrid)
Employment : Long Term Contract
Key Required Skills :
- Strong experience with replication, scripting, RDBMS experience, and excellent communication skills.
- Position Description :
- Be a key resource for replication to enhance the digital modernization efforts for our customer.
- Attend all customer technical discussions / design / development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality / process.
- Provide guidance / support / training to other junior / mid-level staff.
- Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
- All other duties as assigned or directed.
Skills Requirements :
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
- Proven experience with data acquisition or replication.
Required Skills
- These skills will help you succeed in this position :
- Demonstrated experience in log-based Replication technology to replicate data between different DBMS and platforms.
- Demonstrated Experience in replicating data from DB2 z / OS, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience in the installation, configuration, upgrades, and day to day operation of replication technology.
- Experience in the data transformation efforts from legacy to new and alternative technologies.
- Hands on experience working on Linux environment and strong scripting experience in shell scripting.
- Experience in acquiring and replicating data from various legacy and distributed databases including flat file replication.
- Experience in automating replication tasks and processes using batch or bash scripting.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Strong understanding of source control systems.
Desired Skills :
- Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills :
- Experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) CDC replication technologies.
- Working with Git and Bitbucket for source control.
- Strong experience with Python. · Experience working with DB2 mainframe database.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL database and logical replication.
- Experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) CDC replication technologies.
- Experience with ETL tools and understanding ETL functionality.
- Working knowledge of Ansible and Ansible best practices.
- AWS hands-on experience.
- Experience administering cloud solutions.
- Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.
Education :
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with 3 years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
